It’s that crazy time of the year again when everyone is super busy with end-of-the-year work projects, Christmas parties (hangovers) and, of course, the ever-hectic shopping trips for that special day. Make sure you support local business where ever you can! We need the dollar to stay in our town!

It is quite a stressful time for everyone, but among all the hustle and bustle is a wonderful festive spirit we see throughout the Cairns’ community, as is evident in the kindness given to those less fortunate and the enthusiasm shown by those whose Christmas outdoor light displays add to the excitement (even I this year have added an extra string of lights or two).

It really is the most wonderful time of the year as we get to take a break with our loved ones and appreciate all that we have. It’s also the perfect time to recharge our batteries and look ahead to a prosperous and fulfilling 2019.

We have a lot to celebrate about Cairns, especially the people here who are making a huge difference in the lives of others. It’s people like those we showcase in our Meet the Specialists feature as well as inspirational local business owners who we showcase in this issue who help to make our city so great.

As the year draws to an end, the Cairns CityLife team are especially thankful to all our readers, contributors and advertisers for their continued support and interest in helping us spread the word about the wonderful people who are helping to make Cairns the best place to live.

We hope everyone enjoys a very Merry Christmas, with a bucket load of love and laughs.

Bring on a cracker 2019.
