We all consider physical and emotional wellbeing keys to successful living, but another vital aspect to living the life we want comes down to one thing – finances.
Recognising that money plays a decisive role to a happy life, Commonwealth Bank has introduced the role of the Personal Banking Consultant as a passionate professional whose goal it is to help you kick start 2018 by achieving financial wellbeing.
“Helping customers enhance and secure their financial wellbeing is at the forefront of what we do,” said Tamika Rowbottom, one of two Cairns Commonwealth Bank Personal Banking Consultants. “We’re focused on helping people make more informed financial decisions so they can realise their dreams.”
Whether customers are in debt and living beyond their means, saving for a down payment on a house, purchasing another property, wanting to find a better way to manage their day-to-day finances or discussing any financial requirements, they can now have tailored guidance available through the Commonwealth Bank’s new customer-focused program.
“We see a range of different customers from all walks of life,” Tamika said. “Some are struggling, some are not too sure how to manage their banking, others don’t know how to save money while others want to increase their financial security. Finances are not something taught in school and not always at home, so not everyone has a clear understanding of how it all works.
“We want people to know that now there is someone out there who cares about what’s going on in their everyday lives, can teach them about finances and help them move forward.”
Tamika and Daniel Reid are the two Commonwealth Bank’s Personal Banking Consultants in Cairns. They work one-one-one with customers to conduct confidential, meaningful, in-depth conversations to help their clients achieve their financial goals, however larger or small their goals may be.
“We are passionate about making sure our customers are really comfortable talking to us so they can open up about what’s important to them in regards to their finances,” Tamika said. “We have a really good look at all their everyday finances and develop a tailor-made plan to help them move forward.”
Depending on the client’s needs, Personal Banking Consultants may only need to have one meeting to help pave the way for customers to achieve financial wellbeing although they are available for as long as customers need them.
“It’s important to us that our customers know that what they want to achieve is really important to us,” Tamika said. “Money is a massive part of peoples’ lives, and we want them to know there is someone they can trust who is there to help them improve their financial wellbeing.”
While customers are benefitting enormously from this new service, so too are Commonwealth Bank’s Personal Banking Consultants.
“It’s just an amazing feeling to help make a difference so people can achieve their goals,” Tamika said.
Commonwealth Bank has four branches in Cairns – Lake Street, Smithfield, Earlville and Mt Sheridan – as well as other branches in Port Douglas, Innisfail and the Atherton Tablelands.
