In 2016, with over 18 years’ experience working in the travel industry, I decided it was time to go out on my own. So, I went into partnership with TravelManagers Australia, which has 550 personal travel managers across the country.
What is a personal travel manager?
Think of a me the way you’d think of a personal trainer or financial planner – I’ll help you achieve a specific goal in my field of expertise. In this case, travel.
I do all the research and running around for you, comparing deals, flights, accommodation and cruises. I will tailor make an itinerary to your tastes and budget. And, I can come to you, or will happily manage everything by phone or email.
Piecing together the intricacies of the travel puzzle is my speciality. Whether it’s an organised tour, cruise or individual itinerary, I strive to deliver the exact holiday my clients are after.
I enjoy turning travel dreams into reality, with dedication in making everything as convenient and flexible as possible.
There’s a saying – “without a travel agent you’re on your own”. And my clients have peace of mind, knowing that if something goes wrong, I’m only a phone call away. 24/7.
Escorted touring or independent travel?
Travelling is all about the experience, based on time, budget and taste. Escorted tours can take the stress out of planning and give you an immediate community. Independent travel means you get to do what you want, when you want.
Where are you going?
If you’re visiting a city with good infrastructure, and a language you speak, you might not need a tour. An escorted tour will make hard to reach places or significant language barriers a lot easier. Being on a tour you get fast entry into popular attractions.
What activities do you want to do?
I recommend an escorted tour for adventures like trekking or safaris. On the other hand, if you’re planning shopping, museums and people-watching at a café, then go solo.
Are you an experienced traveller?
The more experienced the traveller, the comfortable they are travelling independently. If you’re not, then going on an escorted tour would be the way to go. Your tour guide’s knowledge is invaluable, and they are on hand to take care of everything, from hotel check-in’s to restaurants reservations.
How much time do you have?
An escorted tour can streamline your schedule if you’re limited by time.
Please contact me for expertise advise on touring and independent travelling. I’ve done 7 tours and have travelled independently on my own and with children.
